Importance of artificial lighting to animal farms

• Proper lighting is as important to animals as ventilation, heating, and cooling. In the case of animal production farms, it can strongly influence animal comfort, livelihood, and physiological response.
• Artificial lighting which includes, incandescent, fluorescent, and LED lighting can be chosen and utilized such that it appears natural for the animals.
• Animals, including poultry, livestock, swine, fish, and horses, have a different spectral range of vision than humans do.
