Maize Sheller
The most important aspect of maize post-harvest operations is maize shelling, also known as maize threshing. It entails separating the maize grain from the cobs. The maize sheller is a motorized, power-driven device for removing maize seeds from the cob.
Maize is the world’s most important cereal grain after wheat and rice. It is useful in providing nutrients for humans and animals while also serving as a raw material for the production of starch, oil, and protein, as well as alcoholic beverages, food sweeteners, and, more recently, fuel. It is consumed in a variety of forms to alleviate hunger, including pap or ogi, maize flour, and so on.
Employing a mechanical sheller, such as a maize shelling machine, whose parts are well designed with minimal crop damage is required to alleviate the drudgery process of maize shelling as well as to ensure the quality of the product.
Working principle
The corn is fed from the feeding port and due to the rotary strike of corn by the screw propeller, corn is separated by an in-built sieve. Afterward, the corn cob is discharged from the machine end. Kindly ensure that the feeding volume is not too much, otherwise, the machine is prone to clogging, resulting in broken grains.
